Albert was born on December 29, 1937, in Farmerville, Louisiana and went to be
with his Lord on May 5, 2025, in Homer, Louisiana.
Albert was married to the love of his life for 69 years and his family always
came first. He was a successful electrical contractor that treated everyone
fairly and trained many electricians. Albert was an animated storyteller, and
there was never anyone in his company left unamused. Anytime someone would
visit, he would drop what he was doing and have a witty conversation. Albert
even had an international checker tournament named in his honor and loved using
his intellect to become one of the greatest master level checker players in the
world. He was nicknamed “Horsecollar” by his buddies at Pine Hills Country Club,
whom he would challenge daily. Family vacations almost always were to a checker
tournament or a bluegrass festival. He was also a faithful member of First
Baptist Church and loved the Sonrisers and Chapel Sunday School class.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Frank Tucker and Thelma Tucker
Stringfellow, siblings, Herbert Tucker (Fay Ruth), Boyce Wayne Tucker (Patsy),
Mary Louise Squyres (Darrell), and granddaughter, Catherine Tucker.
He is survived by wife, Sue Tucker of Minden; sons, Charlie Tucker (Tammie) of
Dubberly, John Tucker (Laura) of Minden, and Albert Tucker, Jr. (Martha) of
Minden; daughter, Mary Wright (Ricky); grandchildren Jessica (Andy), Cole,
Travis (Kristen), Matthew, Caroline (Christian), Rueben (Lauren), and Amy
(Chandler), and great grandchildren, Everett, Shepherd, Merritt, Manning, Henry,
Carrigan, Tucker, Jude, Scout, Torin, and Connor.
His grandsons will be pallbearers.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for Albert during his time of
need, including Dr. Clifton Salmon, Passages Hospice and the dedicated staff at
Presbyterian Village and Claiborne Memorial Medical Center.
